Stichting ESRF European Security and Resilience Fund is a not-for-profit foundation. It does not sell listings, charge membership fees, or accept pay-to-rank arrangements. The directory is — and will remain — a public good.
To cover its operating costs, ESRF.net is funded through three channels: minimal, non-intrusive advertising (via Google AdSense), voluntary donations from the European community, and corporate sponsorships. Advertising revenue helps keep the lights on; donations and sponsorships fund the growth and editorial independence of the network.
The foundation relies on a broad base of small contributions from within Europe and the ESRF.net network. The principle is simple: if many organisations and individuals each give a little, the network becomes self-sustaining without depending on any single donor. By accepting donations only from European sources and network members, the foundation safeguards its independence and ensures the framework serves the community it was built for.
One donation is a gesture. A thousand donations are a movement.
European contributions only. To preserve the independence and European character of the framework, the foundation accepts donations exclusively from organisations and individuals based in Europe, and from members of the ESRF.net network.
Every euro contributed goes to maintaining the atlas, curating the directory, publishing the Dispatch, and expanding the reach of the network across 29 European countries. There are no hidden overheads — transparency is the only policy.
